Holdout Golf Threads
Why we're creating Holdout
The deeper we got into the apparel world, the harder it became to ignore the truth: most golf apparel (and apparel in general) is built on cheap labor, poor materials, and short-term thinking — and almost none of it is made in America.
We want to change that.
Holdout is our stand for quality, transparency, and the people still doing things the right way, even if it’s harder. The name "Holdout" comes from a conversation with a cotton spinner in Thomasville, NC, who called himself a “holdout” — one of the last in his industry still standing after so many of his peers shut down when production moved overseas.
We’re here to support the mills, dyers, and sewers still holding out against a broken system — and to prove that American-made golf apparel is still possible, and can even be built better.
What is Holdout Golf Threads?
Holdout Golf Threads is where purpose meets product. We make timeless golf apparel, built entirely in the U.S. from American-made materials.
Every garment is designed intentionally for the golf swing — to move with you on the course — and to look just as good off it. We utilize simple designs that are easy to wear. We work with a small domestic mill, buy our fabrics in the same town we went to college in, and partner with a cut and sew facility who shares our commitment to quality. Seriously, these guys are OBSESSED with quality and getting it right. Each piece will be made to last and made to wear in.
This isn’t about chasing trends. It’s about building golf apparel the right way, from the first thread to the final stitch.
How we're creating Holdout
We’re making golf apparel the way it should be made — slow, deliberate, and with care at every step. That means sourcing 100% American-made fabrics, working with mills that spin and knit here at home, sending those fabrics to a domestic dye house, and partnering with a cut and sew facility that has been doing this for decades.
It’s a process that takes more time, more effort, and more money — but the result is apparel you’ll wear for years, not just a season.
Right now, we’re in the final stages of development for our first piece: a utility jacket built for the golf swing. We’ll be sharing the entire journey — from fabric selection to pattern adjustments — with the people on our list.
